Tying the Knot in Thailand - Not mE!
A
This is my 2nd biz trip up to thailand, bangkok. Today is my thai colleague's, Mr B's, wedding.
The roadtrip to attend his wedding started at 11am, with 4 other colleagues driving up to the outskirt of Bangkok, some 150km away. Gosh... cannot recall the name of the town, i was bz looking arnd and sleeping at the same time throughtout the journey.
A Catholic wedding... i wonder just how different are weddings from country to country. Religiously, its the same ceremony, the wedding ceremony taking place in a little Catholic church in their town. The pastor giving the couple his blessings, some hymns in Thai and ending with the couple walking down the isle with friends and relatives along it, throwing flower petals on them. After which it ended with a photo taking session and wat some single girls are waiting for... the throwing of the bouquet. wonder where did tt custom came arnd.. I wonder where's the Mini or Beetle where there will be a trail of cans behind is... i rem watching it in some movie and advertisement tt as the couple got married.. they will drive away in one of the cars with the back saying... "Just Married"
The wedding dinner is a little more interesting, resembling scenes or 7th month celebration in Singapore, with the communittee of residents gathering at the community centre eating dinner and enjoying the loud singing from the brightly dressed singers.
Marriange... this is the 3rd wedding i attend this year, 1st being my good friend from hostel, Ruth, with Vincent. And my old neighbour's son wedding. When's the age of marriage? How is my wedding ceremony gonna be like? where is it gonna be? I've no answers to these questions yet... but something tt i just wanna look arnd and explore... as in look arnd the world n see wheres the best place i want it to be held... a special ceremony for 2 person... Be it at Shangri La, beside the backdrop of the setting sun or in a quiet church outside town... it just had to be a special place for 2 person to remember for the rest of their lives....
